What kind of book is it?
Not the view from the stage. The view that kept the stage standing.
Loopy did not arrive after the records, the tours or the mythology. He entered the story through his friendship with Paul, before Paul Taylor became Paul Di’Anno, and followed him into a rehearsal room where the future was still held together with cheap equipment and stubbornness.
The book stays close to the work: loading, driving, repairing, waiting and surviving. It also stays close to the people, including the loyalties and wounds that official histories naturally smooth away.

The original diaries
Memory supplied the voice. Ink supplied the dates.
Years after the road, Loopy found the diaries he had kept from 1979 onwards. They restored venues, journeys and details too small for anyone else to record, but too revealing to lose.
